Crayfishes before school. Or something.

So it's August already. Back to school in few weeks. Okay I'm not sure if it starts in August or in September, but I gotta get mentally prepared. My summer has been great, but if you ask me it should be a little longer!

Yesterday we had a crayfish party with my friends. It was so much fun! None of us had ever been in a crayfish party with friends before. Partys like that are pretty expencive to host, so having them is more like a grown-up thing. But we thought it would be nice to do something special this weekend. We had 60 crayfishes, 8 friends and wine. Weather was good so we ate outside at my friend's backyard. We had a very fun time. Maybe next years we'll do this again.

Here's a picture of those poor crayfishes. They were delicious.

We left the heads on our plates. Looks brutal.

Gotta love summer

Last week was like one of the hottest in 60 years. The weather was amazing: over 30° celcius (86° fahrenheit) all the time with only couple of clouds in the sky. Luckily I was at the country side for the whole week. I spent the weekdays at my family's summer house by a lake and relaxed. Days went smoothly by sunbathing and eating my mom's cookings. It was great, but on Thursday I had to come back home in Helsinki for a short visit. The heat was unbearable without cooling lake ( "cooling".. The water in our lake was like 26° celcius) or decent air-condition system. After one day of suffering and sweating I went to my friend's summer house for the weekend. Me and 11 friends of mine grilled all kinds of meats and vegetables, drank all kinds of boozes, went to Sauna and swimming like 20 times and had a lot of fun.

Couple of pictures. Both of them are taken at our summer house. Summer is capturable even with my crappy camera and the photos will remain me of the hottes summer of my life. Next winter, when there is -25° celsius, I'll look back and smile.

The first heading is supposed to be the best one.

Yesterday I thought to myself, wouldn't it be nice to practice my (bad) english while giving something to read to people all over the world. Sure it would. Well, here we are. Let me introduce myself. I'm Renee, 21 years old girl from Finland. I study digital media and when I grow up I wanna work in advertising. I love music, especially finnish and scandinavian rock and metal. In my free time I surf the Internet, write, drink or hang out with friends.

This blog will be my journal. I'll probably write about my life in general and about things I do or like. My other blog, Ruutukuun kajossa which is in finnish, is more about literature, art, whining about society and things like that, thoughts which would be too hard for me to write in english. Name of this blog is trying to be a translation from the name of my finnish blog. Finnish name has a douple meaning which is impossible to translate properly, so "In the gleam of the diamond moon" will have to do.

That's about it. I hope you'll like your stay. And please, feel free to correct my grammar and mistakes.
